Powell's Books - Portland, OR

Powell's Books - Portland, OR

I noticed him flipping through art books in Powell's and had to have his photo. I was a bit nervous asking him, as I can never be sure how older folks will take my asking for their photo (it's been unpredictable, although I've found that the forty- to fifty-year-old crowd tends to be the most skeptical). But he was quite nice about it and was also very pleasant to chat with; he mentioned that he used to be a buyer for Bergdorf Goodman and loves fashion photography. I need to find people like him in Seattle!

Stumptown Coffee - Portland, OR

Stumptown Coffee - Portland

I was in Portland this past weekend and found this guy at the Stumptown in the Ace Hotel. He looked casually perfect for a quiet, rainy Saturday morning.

Seattle Fashion Week Runway Event

Seattle Fashion Week 2007 Runway Event

I attended the Seattle Fashion Week runway event this past Saturday night. The week's events were all 'green'-themed, so the runway event featured clothing and designers who demonstrate 'eco fashion sense.' The simplest outfits in the show were the most appealing:

And this dress was the most fun:

Sonic Boom - Ballard, Seattle

Sonic Boom - Ballard, Seattle

Vampire Weekend at their in-store performance at Sonic Boom. There's something Rushmore-preppy charming about their collective style. (And Oxford Comma's one of my favorite songs of the year.)
