Santa break

Pike/Pine will be dormant until Jan. 2nd, when I'll return with my photo stock replenished by pics from DC and San Francisco. (If you have any tips on where to go for good fashion-watching in SF, please drop a line!) Have a lovely, stylish holiday.

1st Ave - Belltown, Seattle

I had spent that morning walking around Pacific Place and Belltown looking for photo-worthy subjects while finishing up some holiday shopping. I felt pretty discouraged after a couple hours of not finding anyone, but then I turned a corner and saw these two, and it made it all worth it. Everything about her outfit is adorable, especially the two bottom left buttons of her coat. And his mittens and red hat are awesome.

Holiday Party - Pioneer Square, Seattle

What a great dress. I love the bubble-shape that's dominated this season (Chloe & Marni have become my inspirations), and this dress is a perfect, elegant take on it. Julie looks just like a present.

PCC - Fremont, Seattle

I posted a photo of him previously at OKOK in Ballard a month ago - bumped into him again, looking quite chic at PCC. I like the upturned collar on his blazer.

Bauhaus - Capitol Hill, Seattle

I found his outfit really charming - it's neat, hip, and quaint, all at the same time. And a reindeer sweater is just about the hardest thing to pull off; that he does it unironically is quite a feat.

Whole Foods - South Lake Union, Seattle

Her outfit's like a sweeter take on the 'street warrior' aesthetic. The high collar/scarf is an especially nice touch.

Trader Joe's - Capitol Hill, Seattle

There's something so quintessentially Seattle about seeing guys like this in the produce section of Trader Joe's.

Lucca Statuary - Fremont, Seattle

Joe, looking very sensibly stylish. Nice contrast between his colorful Adidases and the more somber brown blazer and green pants.

Asics Onitsuka Tigers - Capitol Hill, Seattle

Her blue socks, green scarf, and pixie-ish haircut are all so fun, especially on a dreary Sunday morning along Broadway.

Seattle Public Library - Downtown Seattle

As soon as I stepped into the elevator and saw this guy, I knew I had to have his picture. The red stripes of his sweatshirt and his turquoise hat were so perfect against the bright chartreuse.

Those elevators are, by the way, among the coolest things to see in all of Seattle, much like...well, everything else about the library. And yes, I really should hang out there more in search of photo-worthy subjects. (Everyone looks 10% more stylish just being there.)

Espresso Vivace - Capitol Hill, Seattle

Her coat with the scarf is great, but it's the friendly pink Chucks I like best.
