Lyell - Nolita, NYC

Lyell - Nolita, NYC

The Lyell boutique in Nolita is like a little Victorian dressing room, and these two distinctively stylish ladies fit right in there. The high-waisted shorts on the left are only for the brave, but they look perfect on her, and she wisely pairs them with simple flats. And the girl on the right looks like an F. Scott Fitzgerald heroine.

I went to the second to last day of The Sale (you know the one) on Saturday, and thought of this blog often--I saw so many well-dressed people there, not only in Nordstrom but also all over Pacific Place. I wish I had your excuse to take a picture!

Hi Aarwenn - I'm sad I wasn't there! But it must've been a fun scene...

I must agree that those high-waisted shorts are ONLY for the brave, and it just looks great on her. Also love the dress... and of course, that "little Victorian" floor!

Ah Lyell, one of my favorate stores. I love both of these. This is just classic european style. These outfits will never go out of style. They look simple and beautiful. If this picture was in black and white you would have a hard time telling what era it was taken in. My favorate picture!!!

I just can't accept the high waist deal but I will concede that the look works better with shorts.
